Purpose statement

The Objects of Mercy Community Services Incorporated (MCS) are detailed in its Constitution, as follows:3.1 ObjectsThe principal objects for which MCS was established will continue to be the principal objects of MCS under this Constitution, namely:(a) the provision of a range of residential, community and advocacy services to address specific social and welfare needs of children, young people, the aged and families through a charitable non-profit body;(b) to conduct the activities referred to in Rule 3.1(a) in a manner which:(i) continues to draw on the inspiration of Catherine McAuley, and to embody the Gospel values, including courageous faith, genuine love and compassion for the poor, dignity for each human being and solidarity in community;(ii) is consistent with the teachings, laws and principles of the Roman Catholic Church.(iii) adheres to any applicable ethical standards for Catholic institutions in Australia;(iv) provides within a Christian environment the highest standards of services for the aged, infirm, sick, disabled and disadvantaged; and(v) adjusts in whatever way necessary to meet the changing needs of the community especially the poor and disadvantaged.Mercy Community Services Inc provided the following services: Aged Care ServicesMercyCare offers home and community care packages, home care packages and in-house respite packages, as well as flexible respite options for family carers looking after a loved one living with dementia. MercyCare's McAuley House is also a vibrant, friendly meeting place for people to take an active role in enhancing their own wellbeing and quality of life. For retirement living options, MercyCare's Mercy Retirement Village is located close to Lake Monger in Wembley. MercyCare also operates a residential aged care facility in Wembley.Disability ServicesMercyCare provides services and support to people with disabilities funded through the National Disability Insurance Scheme and the WA Disability Services Commission.Family & Community ServicesMercyCare offers a wide range of family and youth services including; Status Resolution and Support Services (SRSS) for asylum seekers, Reconnect, Family Mental Health Support Services, Family Support Network, out of home care programs with fostering services and family group homes, disability services, Early Learning Centres, community and educational support programs for migrants and their families and the Derby Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation.
