Purpose statement
Since our inception in 2002, we have delivered over 1,650 dwellings and have assisted close to 3,800 low income households into affordable, stable and secure housing. The complex needs of many of our tenants means that joint initiatives with our support partners are increasingly important in helping tenants to maximise their potential and, often, to re-engage with the wider community. Approximately 90% of BHCs existing social housing tenants are either high or very high need clients as classified by the Queensland State Governments One Social Housing System. BHC has developed strong networks and productive partnerships with local support agencies such as Under 1 Roof, Partners in Recovery and Footprints. Our staff will continue to create collaborations that support our tenants to sustain their tenancies and enrich their lives. Our vision is to create thriving, diverse communities through our unique business model which combines affordable housing with saleable residential product, to provide housing solutions for tenant groups with a particularly high risk of homelessness. This financially and socially sustainable approach enables BHC to create high quality, mixed tenure developments incorporating elements of affordable housing and market for sale product. BHC strives to be an industry leader, setting the benchmark for excellence in property and tenancy management services and project delivery by providing a holistic and integrated service.
