Purpose statement
The ARDC's mission is to accelerate research and innovation by driving excellence in the creation, analysis and retention of high-quality data assets. The principal activities that support the ARDC achieving its objectives are driven through three thematic research data commons: People RDC, for health and medical research and research translation; Planet RDC, for earth and environmental research and decision making; and HASS & Indigenous RDC, for humanities, arts, social sciences, and Indigenous research. During the period, funds totalling $48.2 million were invested to provide access for researchers to unified and coherent research platforms and supporting infrastructure. This includes project investment made through the thematic research data commons, as well as provision of the ARDC Nectar Research Cloud. In addition, several quality data services and tools were provided to enable researchers to conduct world-class data-intensive research.
