Purpose statement
1- Career Counselling: In partnership with Mas National, AAI organised an information session for 20 job seekers and young people who needed career counselling. 2- Advocacy: While it is not AAI s formal objective, AAI has been actively advocating for the rights of refugees in Australia and overseas to the federal government. As part of it, AAI has lodged a submission for Humanitarian Program 2024-2025 where requested the Australian Government to consider the skills and experiences of the whole family rather than only the main applicant in the privately sponsorship Community Support Program. AAI also wrote to the Minister of Immigration and Minister of Foreign Affairs requesting the Australian Government to priorities single mothers application in their humanitarian program including those women whose husbands are on temporary visa in Australia.
