Purpose statement
Northern Coalfields as a whole delivers Aged Care Services with approx 45% concessional residents. This is also party due to the socio-economics of the local area. We also run and maintain a community Housing in a partnership with Department of housing. The housing is aimed at over 55yr olds who are disadvantaged or having a disability. We also work both in partnership and co-operation with local RTO's and TAFE with work placements of students looking to enter the Aged and Community Areas. We also help, partner and foster relationships with providers with like purposes to ensure Aged,Disadvataged and Disabled have access to relevant services. One very simple example is an arrangement where we loan our buses to the Local Community Transport service at no cost for any peak times and also to allow for breakdown and servicing of their units. We also donated through a Service Club approx 50 beds, some walkers and associated aids to be sent to Papua New Quinea for remote hospitals.
Change of Purpose
We have purchased a neighbouring block of land and we are looking at setting up Day respite services as none run in the area presently. Also a Mens Shed and Dementia Cafe. Not sure if all will be fully operational with the next year but the projects are with Architects now for plans to go to council.
