Purpose statement
Mercy Ships is an international development organisation that deploys hospital ships, in-country teams, partnerships, and volunteers to developing nations, saving and improving the quality of life for people living with diseases of poverty, disfigurement, and disability. We achieve this through direct medical services and building the capacities of healthcare systems to meet future needs. Our efforts are aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) to ensure healthy lives and promote well- being for all at all ages. We currently operate in sub-Saharan Africa and across the Asia-Pacific focusing on medical capacity building and agriculture projects. Additionally, we support projects in developing countries as declared by the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
