Purpose statement
The company under the leadership of Artistic Director, Amy Hollingsworth, created and presented two new major dance works with the premier of Lucie in the Sky in (Brisbane & Canberra) and Halycon (Brisbane). The company's artistic director and dancers worked with two artistic visionaries, Maxine Doyle and Es Devlin, on an epic new work Salamander presented by the Brisbane Festival. The company continued to provide significant dance development and training opportunities including with the company's Youth Ensemble and Mature Ensemble. Both ensembles created and presented dance works during the year. The company delivered contemporary dance intensive courses, in-school workshops, & professional development for teachers. The company partnered with BlakDance Australia for the first year of a 3-year program supporting established and emerging First Nations choreographers and dancers - the First Collective Residences. The company engaged and collaborated with local, national & international arts companies, creatives, artists, and performers for the 2023 artistic program.
